Marsanne provides the mineral element and the depth of palate and Viognier, in quite small percentages, elevates the fruit aromas of the blend. On the nose, the wine shows hints of lemon curd and toast, accentuated by subtle floral notes that make the wine seem lively and bright. Custardy aromas give rise to a creamy texture in the mouth, both brought on by barrel fermentation and lees stirring.

Complex aromatics showing red to dark fruits of Bing cherries, blackberries, coupled with resin, cola, sandalwood and sweet spices. The wine enters the palate sweet, has a round mid palate and shows flavors of blackberries, cherries, plums and figs accented with tertiary flavors of anise, cocoa, tobacco and subtle dried herbs. The long finish is layered with lush, fine grained tannins followed by a graceful acidity.

This un-sweet red wine is a  limited production wine that is rapidly gaining attention! The 2006 Mosby Dolcetto has a nose with spicy hints of mace and forest floor. The backbone of tannin is interlaced with clean raspberry fruit, followed by a firm, spicy finish.
